American Heart Association “Mission in Action”

The 2013 Metro St. Louis Heart Walk at Busch Stadium on Saturday, May 4 is our “mission in action.” Through the Heart Walk, we create opportunities for people to improve their health by walking and simultaneously raise funds to help fight heart disease and stroke.

• Walkers can organize teams at the companies where they work or with family and friends.

• Walkers ask others to support their walk effort by sponsoring them with a donation to the American Heart Association.

• The Heart Walk is a wellness event that encourages healthy lifestyle choices.

To the millions who acted on their dream, we salute you. For days on end, you rise before the sun and outlive the burn of the midnight oil. You play a vital role in the US economy and yet you don’t get the recognition you deserve. But on March 29, we celebrate National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day. And because you have little time to work on absolutely everything in your business, we’re offering three marketing tips that you can do in your sleep—or at least take less of your time to do them.

Get Found Online
Google tells us that 97% of consumers look to a web search to find local businesses. With no cost to you and less than an hour of your time, your customers can find you online if you set up your Google Places account. It’s as easy as updating your address, hours and phone number and adding a few photos to help you stand out. It should get your business closer to the top of a search when your prospects search for, “plumber, city, state,” unless of course you’re not a plumber.

Leave Your Calling Card
It sounds simple, but so many small business owners overlook a basic necessity of doing business. Get thee to a printing company and order some business cards. Then, have them with you at all times. You never know when you’ll run into a potential customer or want to leave one in a conspicuous place for an unsuspecting customer to find.

Ask For Referrals
Again, we’ll look to the basics. You have to interact with your customers, right? Well give them the best service they can receive all day. Ask your customers if they’ve appreciated your service. If they say yes, ask if they know of anyone else that can benefit from your business. It may feel like you’re begging at first, but if it becomes a routine with every transaction, you should have more business in no time. Oh, and that’s where those handy business cards can come into play.

Self-Mailer Postal Regulation Changes January, 5th 2013

They say if it isn’t broke don’t fix it!  Well, the USPS says this will reduce damage to your mail, and stop their sorting equipment from jamming.

These changes are due to go into effect January 5, 2013.

Here’s a chart to inform you of what you need to know.

Some less common self-mailer designs are too complex to cover in this chart, so if your design is different that what was covered here or you have questions please contact us to discuss it. When you finish your self-mailer designs, email a PDF of the design to us at prepress@njcprint.com to check for compliance with USPS regulations prior to printing.

APDA 17th Annual Fashion Show, Luncheon and Auction

Preparation for the 17th Annual Fashion Show, Luncheon, and Auction has begun! The event is scheduled for Monday, October 8, 2012, starting at 10:30 am. Building on the tremendous success of the past 16 years and the ever-growing support of businesses and individuals around St. Louis, they are hoping to make this the biggest and most successful event yet!

Last year over 450 people attended this increasingly prominent charitable event. They are thrilled to have Victoria Babu of KTRS Radio returning as their Master of Ceremonies. Proceeds from this event will be used exclusively for funding research conducted at the local Center for Advanced Parkinson’s Research to identify causes and ultimately a cure for Parkinson Disease.
